Thank you for your interest in becoming a dedicated team member with us at Personal Pet Pal, LLC. There is a lot of information that you will be reading to determine if this job is for you and you would like to go through the process of becoming a team member to the next level of hiring. While we realize that this job is not for everyone, we will go over some of the basics that are required for the job of a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker with Personal Pet Pal, LLC. Please note, you must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Must have a cell phone (text plan is VERY helpful), home computer & printer.

Let's start with "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly" of being a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker.

Actually, we will start with the "Ugly" this way we will not waste too much of your time, if you know up front that this job is not intended for you. Can you answer "yes" to each of these...

• My schedule is flexible, I can work AM, Midday & PM shift(s).
• I can and will work pretty much all Holiday's and the weekends known to man.
• I have trusted & reliable transportation that is insured. Good on mileage is a plus!
• I will be working in the snow, ice, sleet, rain, hot humid mornings, days & nights.
• I will be driving often and putting a fair amount of miles on my vehicle.
• I do not need a set amount of income per week, as vacation clients vary as to when they schedule, i.e.: Summer & Holidays are normally busier then January.
• I am physically able to walk a dog(s) for 15 to 30 minutes per visit.

If you answered YES to each question, and are still interested, let's get to the "Bad" aspects being a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker.

• Since you will be working Holiday's, Holiday weekends and weekends in general many times you will be missing family functions. While we try very hard to be fair to allow you to spend time with your family during these times, it is not always possible, depending on the amount of clients that are out of town.
• Some clients have "exotic" pets that you may not particularly like, i.e. snakes, spiders, etc. that will need to be fed, yes, I can and will feed them after all, they have to eat too!
• I realize that I will be cleaning up after pet's bodily functions, not just scooping liter boxes, picking up after a dog while walking, but also vomit & other accidents. As well as cleaning out cages. Not the most pleasant of duties!
• Not all cats & dogs will be happy to see you, some may hiss or growl at you, they may not like your hair style, nail polish or the way you smell. Do not take it personally, as some pets are just more grumpy then others. But we do not take any clients pets that are aggressive. Grumpy yes, aggressive NO!
• We have to give shots, fluids, medications, etc. to those that are ill/sick or elderly.

Are you still with us?
That is wonderful!

Now that you have an idea of the not so good aspects about being a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, lets move on to the "Good". We try to be honest, up front and not sugar-coat anything. We realize that this job is not for everyone, and by spelling it out, giving you time to mull over the Good, the Bad & the Ugly, you are well informed and know what to expect, thus the beginning of an honest and good working relationship. So, on to the "Good"! Please note that there are way more "Good" points then the Bad or Ugly, and we are not even listing a tenth of the "Good".

• You get to be around fur-babies all day! How lucky for YOU!
• 99.0% of our clients will be THRILLED to see you, tails a wagging, lots of purring and even some "Hello's" from our bird clients!
• It is very possible that you will get tired of "laughing and smiling" all day/night as the silly antics that most of our fur-clients do! Oh some of the stories!
• You get to exercise by walking…..and get paid for it!
• You will be an important part of our fur-babies lives. They will forever be grateful that you take such amazing care for them!
• You get to do what you love, have a passion for and truly enjoy. How many people can say that about their job?
• Your schedule is flexible. Some weeks you may be very busy, other weeks you might not have much. Generally we know in advance our client's vacation plans (but not always) and that gives you ample time to plan a vacation or just time off.
• You can have great conversations with all the fur-babies, and best of all…they will NOT talk back, but agree with you with tails wagging and lots of kisses!
• Many, many, many of our clients are involved in rescue groups and or have rescued or adopted their pets. That should tell you the caliber of many our clients!
• Our clients treat their fur-babies as part of their family, they ARE their children and you are part of that family as well. You will be the new Aunt or Uncle!
• Not only are you taking care for the pets, but also the clients home. You have a lot of responsibility which is never taken lightly. If you become a team member with Personal Pet Pal, LLC, congratulations as this job is very rewarding & satisfying!
• You will be getting paid for playing with puppies, petting kitties and talking to birds too! And the best part is that you will have new fur-baby friends!
• You will be part of an amazing team and company. One that has won WDIV channel 4's "Vote for the Best" under Dog Walking. And one of the largest Pet Sitting/Dog Walking companies in Livingston/Oakland and Washtenaw Counties.

We can go on and on about the "Good" parts of being a Pet Sitter/Dog Walker, but you will need create your own list and stop using ours! So are you ready to take this process to the next level? Have you mulled over everything, "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and you are screaming at your computer "Come on….tell me more, what is next!?!"

Well now we need to know about you! We have been brutally honest with you, so it is now your turn! Please fill out the next questionnaire and finally the application information. Once we read over everything, the next process will be a phone interview and then an in person interview. If we are a good match the last requirement before we turn you to the "Dogs" literally, will be a ride along for a few hours, so you can actually see first hand how a typical day goes and meet many of the fur-baby clients.

During our in person interview you will sign a Consent & Release for a Background Check. If hired as an I/C you will then sign our Key Policy Procedure and a Non-Solicit form. Once hired we will go over in detail the I/C manual for Personal Pet Pal, LLC.

One last thing…You have probably noticed that nothing was mentioned about the pay. That will depend on your experience, but typically to start it will average $16.00 per hour that is worked, not travel time. You are NOT paid by the hour, but paid for each visit you do, while the majority of the visits are 30 minutes, many are 20 minutes. If you do 3 20 minute visits then you would average $24.00 per hour. You will also be an Independent Contractor and you will be responsible for your own taxes. Also, since you will be an I/C there is neither workman's compensation, insurance nor benefits provided.
